Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) – Sometimes it takes a little dog to do a big dog's work. At least that is the kind of attitude you will find at the Annual Mini Sled Dog Race.

The race took place this morning in Grandma’s parking lot in Duluth’s Canal Park. There were all different kinds of dogs at the mini race– from poodles to yorkies.

Awards were given to the fastest dogs in each weight category, as well as Best in Show. Samantha Dandrea says it is her dog Coco's first year in the race.

"This is very fun seeing a bunch of the different dogs, and I want to see how Coco reacts to the race and all the other dogs,” Dandrea said.

Coco did not end up winning the fastest race. She went off track, literally, missing the finish line. However, she did win Best in Show! Her cheerleaders are very proud of her.
