Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - Dangerous wind chill temperatures are forcing Spirit Mountain, in Duluth, to close the ski resort early throughout the week.

According to the ski resort's website, Spirit Mountain will close early at 5pm Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Officials hope to return to regular hours by Thursday when temperatures are expected to rise.

However, the Adventure Park and Snow Tubing are closed due to the weather.

The National Weather Service has issued a wind chill warning for Northeastern Minnesota until noon Monday. The wind chill will make it feel like 30 to 40 below throughout most of Northeast Minnesota.

Exposed flesh in that kind of biting cold could freeze in a matter of minutes.

Spirit Mountain had completely shut down Sunday due to the frigid cold.
