Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The St. Louis County Board has approved a budget of nearly $320 million for next year.
The budget reflects a 1.5 percent increase in the property tax levy. The levy increase is dedicated to funding debt service related to the renovation of the Government Services Center.
There is no increase in the operating levy.
County officials say thanks to new development increasing the tax base, most tax payers will see no change or even a decrease in the county portion of their property taxes.
A statement will be sent out in March.
