St. Paul, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- A St. Paul based company has plans to purchase Salo Engineering in Hermantown, MN.

TKDA has a purchase agreement to acquire Salo Engineering, a firm that has been providing civil engineering and land surveying services in Northern Minnesota and Wisconsin for nearly 70 years.

David Salo, PE, is the third-generation-owner of his family’s company and he and his team of civil engineers, land surveyors and technicians will continue to serve clients from their Hermantown office, working closely with TKDA staff in both Duluth and Saint Paul.

“We are pleased to bring our experience and our relationships to the TKDA team,” says Salo. “Our shared values of providing quality services and commitment to our clients is a natural fit for our two firms. We have a long history of working with the staff in the Duluth office so the move feels just right.”

Salo Engineering has worked with the City of Duluth, City of Hermantown, Saint Louis County, Minnesota Power and the Duluth Seaway Port Authority among other Northland clients over the years.

“We are thrilled to have Dave Salo and his staff join TKDA,” says President and CEO Bill Deitner, PE. “Adding civil engineers and land surveyors to our Duluth team strengthens our position in the Northland and throughout Minnesota. They give us local resources to deliver the fully integrated, quality engineering and architectural services clients expect from TKDA.”

TKDA’s acquisition of Salo Engineering is expected to be finalized next month.
