DULUTH, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) - About a dozen workers at Duluth Steel Fabricators are on strike Monday with healthcare as a major sticking point in their contract negotiations.

The employees say they gave-up family health insurance to help the company through the recession a couple years ago.

Now, those on strike say the company has not kept its promise to bring back family coverage.

"We're just trying to get back a good portion of the groan that we've, you know, given back to the company," said Lee Popovich, a union steward.

Wages and pensions are also sticking points in the contract negotiations.

The steel workers on strike are part of United Steel Workers 1028.
