Cloquet, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Crowds filled the streets in celebration of Labor Day for the annual Cloquet Labor Day Parade on Monday.

The annual event hosted bands, bikes and beauty queens. The Cloquet Fire Department also activated their fill the boot campaign.

"Kids seem to have a lot of fun with it so they save their pennies up over the course of the year and when we come around Labor Day they donate what they can," says Cloquet Fire District Battalion Chief Steve Kolodge.

The campaign has raised over $35,000 since it started three decades ago.

Stickers motivated many of the kids in Cloquet to action, but others would rather take advantage of the free treats.

"It's fun and we get all the candy," says Abrianna.

"And we get everything we want," says Julie.

People Flock from all over to raise money for their causes, enjoy the festivities and of course chow down.

"We're having a BBQ we usually have it on the 4th of the July and also on Labor Day," says Cloquet Moose Lodge Administrator James Christian. "It's a community effort between Moose Legion and also the Moose Members."

The barbeque raises funds for various charities including Moose Heart and Moose Haven. The organizations help provide shelter to homeless children and senior citizens.
