Duluth firefighters were called to 511 North 57th Avenue West shortly after eight this evening for a structure fire.

There was a structure fire with flames both on the first and second floors. Firefighters extinguished the fire quickly, taking only minutes.
Onlookers said they were relieved the fire did not spread to neighboring homes.

One resident from the structure was in tears after being told she could not return to the home and said the inside looked blue from all the smoke.

When the fire was extinguished crews began the process of locating the cause.

"I have a fire investigator on the way to determine the cause of the fire. Fire damage was minimal, fair amount of smoke in there," says Bryan Bushey Assistant Fire Chief.

There were no injuries and the residents of the home evacuated on their own before firefighters arrived.
