Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The Salvation Army is wrapping up another successful season of holiday giving.

Although donations are down overall from last year, the season was still bright.

So far, more than $270,000 has been raised from the Red Kettle Campaign, with more donations still rolling in.

In addition, the Toyland Express Toy Drive was able to provide more than 6,000 toys to 2,800 children.

Officials for the Salvation Army are grateful for the outpouring of support from the community.

"A lot of families depend on us each year to be there to help them fill in the gaps and that's what we were able to do," said Major William Cox, Corp. Officer of the Duluth area Salvation Army.

The Salvation Army is already planning next year's campaigns and has a good supply of donations to help kick start the season.
