Two Harbors, MN (NNCNOW.com) -- RootsRated is calling the Superior Hiking Trail the "Best of the Best" when it comes to the best hikes/backpacking/camping experiences on its digital recreation guide.

RootsRated is a national online recreation guide featuring outdoor living and experiences. They are encouraging people to explore the Superior Hiking Trail which they are calling "one of the most scenic long distance trails in the nation."

The trail is a footpath which travels mostly along the ridgeline overlooking Lake Superior on Minnesota's North Shore. The trail routs from Jay Cooke State Park and goes almost to the Canadian border.

"Whether hikers and outdoor enthusiasts are living in or visiting the Twin Cities or Minnesota, traveling north and spending time on the Superior Hiking Trail is one of the most memorable outdoors adventures and we're glad the RootsRated authors think so, too," Board President of the trail association, Byron Stadsovld, said.

The Superior Hiking Trail will be highlighted by Midwest Mountaineering and RootsRated from 5-8 p.m. at Pint Night at Midwest Mountaineering.
