Superior, WI (NNCNOW.com ) --- A group of eager 5th graders took a break from the traditional classroom setting in exchange for some hands on fun.
Superior students from Great Lakes Elementary School and Lake Superior School participated in WaterFest at the Mariner Mall.
The kids were schooled on everything Lake Superior, including water pollution and water quality.
"You learn about the different things in water like the different species. You learn about invasive species. You learn about how to take care of water, stuff like that," said Brayden Nimmo, a 5th grader at Great Lakes Elementary.
Superior Mayor Bruce Hagen and environmental researchers were also in attendance.
