SUPERIOR (NNCNow.com) --- Superior is expected to see quite a building boom in 2014.

In two weeks, construction is set to begin on a new senior housing center on 13th street and Weeks Avenue.

The $6.5 million building will have fifty units for low to moderate income senior citizens.

Some commercial developments will also begin soon. Three Quick Trip convenience stores will be built on Tower Avenue, Belknap, and East Second Street.

Meanwhile, Superior officials say they're working to attract restaurants and midsized franchises to the area as well.

"We have also had the Super One that was just constructed – 60,000 square feet – plus some retail spots out on 2nd St. that has really spurred some interest on that corridor,” said Jason Serck, Planning Director for the City of Superior. “It's going to be a busy summer for construction."

There are also two new auto–store construction stores in the works.
