Superior, WI (NNCNOW.com)--- A local meat business was recognized nationally at the American Cured Meat Championships this past weekend in Milwaukee.
Superior Meats walked away with two national awards for their Mediterranean Salami and Elk Summer Sausage.
The meat shop was one of more than one thousand to enter the competition this weekend.
This isn't the first award for Superior Meats...their meat selections have won awards every year at the state level since 2006, including four this year plus the two national awards.
"We take a lot of pride and make sure it's high quality and our sales reflect that. We've gone from our first year in business in 2000, we did just under 3 hundred thousand and this year we'll be pushing four million," said manager Mike Cragin.
Cragin is already looking forward to entering meat in next year's competition in Springfield Illinois.
