Superior Police Launch New App for Android Users

March 28, 2013 Updated Mar 28, 2013 at 10:40 AM CDT

Superior, WI (NNCNOW.com) --- The Superior Police Department has launched a new app for Android users that allows the public to anonymously share information with the department.

The app is called 'SPDTip'. With the app, the police can respond back to messages and have an anonymous chat if the person sending in a tip chooses to have continued dialog.

The department says that 'SPDTip' puts a powerful new crime fighting tool into the hands of the community.

The Superior Police Department launched an iPhone app in November 2012.

All tips are received anonymously but it should be noted that this system is not monitored 24/7 so emergencies should still be reported to 911.
