Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - Supporters of Duluth candidates of color gathered Thursday night at the Central Hill side community center.

At Large School Board Candidate Henry Banks and City Council candidate Ray Skip Sandman were the guests of honor.

T–shirts and raffle tickets were sold with proceeds going to their campaigns.

Organizers say it was time to bring people together before the hard works starts.

"Getting everyone together who have similar platforms and similar interests and seeing if we could give both campaigns a little extra attention in this election," said Reyna Crow, communication relations coordinator.

The primary election for city council and school board will held on September 10.
