Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- A suspect has been identified and charged in connection with a shooting in April that left one man in critical condition.
20-year-old James Earl Wilkinson has been charged with first degree assault and second degree assault after he allegedly shot another man in the chest on the 2200 block of west second street on April 27.
Initial investigations showed that a resident had a gathering at the home, and after the victim was shot- the suspect fled the area.
The victim in this case had invasive surgical procedures to repair the injury from the bullet wound and bullet fragments are still lodged in his body that cannot be removed.
Wilkinson is currently in custody at the Douglas County Jail on unrelated charges and will be extradited to Minnesota to face the shooting charges.
