Superior, WI (NNCNOW.com) --- The Duluth man accused of punching an 84-year-old woman in the face last week and allegedly robbing her has been charged.
47-year-old Jeffrey Montana made his initial appearance in Douglas County Court Thursday.
Montana is charged with six felonies including robbery with use of force, aggravate robbery, fleeing a police officer, driving a motor vehicle without consent and burglary.
The charges stem from an incident that happened Sunday morning at the Phoenix Villa Apartments on Clough Avenue in Superior.
The elderly woman answered the door of her home after she heard someone knocking. Police say Montana punched the woman after she answered the door, knocking her to the floor.
The suspect allegedly demanded money and took an undisclosed amount of cash from the woman, before entering the home and stealing other small items.
Montana is suspected of several other burglaries that took place last weekend.
He is still being held at the Douglas County Jail on $100,000 bail.
He is scheduled to appear in court again on August 21.
