Virginia, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) -One person is in custody after allegedly ramming his truck into a Minnesota State Patrol trooper's car.

It happened last night just north of Virginia.

According to authorities a man was pulled over by a state trooper after reports the suspects truck had crashed into a mailbox.

While the suspect and a witness were being questioned the suspect jumped back into his car and sped away.

The suspect then fled the scene and a second trooper was led on a high speed chase into Virginia.

The suspect was arrested in Virignia. The Minnesota State Patrol was assisted by the Virginia Police Dept. and the St. Louis County Sheriff's Dept.

The suspect is being held at the St. Louis County Jail facing multiple charges.
