St. Paul, MN (NNCNOW.com) -A liquor bill containing a number of measures, except legalizing Sunday liquor sales, cleared a hurdle Wednesday in the Senate Commerce Committee.

The omnibus bill would allow brewpubs and taprooms to refill and sell beer growlers on Sundays.

The bill would also increase malt liquor samplings and allow alcohol at TCF Bank Stadium.

“We’re taking baby steps here with the tap room and growler sales, but it’s a step in the right direction. I’m confident this omnibus liquor bill will pass the Senate, the pressure is now on the House to be progressive and meet the Senate on this issue,” said Sen. Roger Reinert (DFL-Duluth).

The proposed legislation now heads to the Senate Tax Committee.
