kjacobsen@northlandsnewscenter.com DULUTH, MINN --- Duluth Fire Department officials say a man reported struggling in the waters of Lake Superior Wednesday evening was trying to swim out to a Tall Ship. The incident unfolded just off shore from the Fitger's Complex off of East Superior Street around 8:30 p.m. Authorities say the man was eventually picked up by a civilian boat and then handed off to the Coast Guard. Fire officials say the man was intoxicated. They add he wasn't hurt, but had told emergency responders he was tired.
