Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) - It's often the backdrop for some of life's most memorable moments.

Alex Musker and Mallory Kohler know it well. Their love for music struck a chord.

"We first met at a high school musical," said Musker.

"My first thought was who is that?" said Mallory.

"She was running spotlights I was performing on stage as one of the bad guys," Musker added.

"I fell in love with his voice then she got to know him after that." Mallory admitted.

High School Sweethearts who, together now for six years, share an undeniable taste in music.

"Mallory and I both absolutely love symphony orchestra," Musker said. "It's beautiful music. We've always really enjoyed classical music. It's very romantic."

You can only imagine the excitement when the two made the move from Anoka County to Duluth and discovered the Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra.

"Our first time here we both fell in love with it," Musker said.

With season tickets in hand, date nights became a little more frequent and classical for the two

"If you come and see it, it has so much more impact than listening to it on Youtube," Mallory said.

It became obvious to Alex how one day he would take his harmonious relationship to a new note.

"When I first came up with the idea I thought it was kind of crazy," he admitted.

Like the precision between the maestro and his orchestra, the timing of this moment had to be just right. That brought the couple to opening night of the DSSO's 81st season.

Unbeknownst to Mallory.

"I was asked to make the opening remarks this evening so I jumped at the chance," Musker addressed the audience.

"I have one thing to make this evening a little more special, Mallory if you can please come up on stage," Musker said has the audience cheered.

Of all the symphonies Alex learned to love in his life, nothing could compare to the sweet tune of this.

"I have an important question to ask you. Will you marry me?"

Mallory nodded her head.

The audience applauded the special moment, strung together, by love and a passion for music.

"That was a shock," Mallory said moments after.

"I managed to keep it a secret, I don't know how," said Musker.

Alex and Mallory say they'll likely tie the knot next Fall.
