Court Order Shuts Down 'Last Place' Until August Trial

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com)-- St. Louis County Judge Shaun Floreke granted a temporary retraining order against the head shop Last Place on Earth, as requested by Duluth city attorneys.

The order requires that the downtown head shop--that sells synthetic drugs--to remain closed until issues are resolved in court. The two-day trial will commence on August 19th to decide the future of 'Last Place.'

City attorneys filed the temporary restraining order when 'Last Place' sold what authorities call synthetic drugs without a license. A newly enacted city ordinance requires shops that sell synthetic drugs to apply and acquire a license.
