St. Paul, MN (NNCNOW.com) - Ten people have been indicted in connection with illegal poaching of walleye on Leech Lake and Red Lake.

The charges, ranging from July 2009 to July 2011, are in relation to the illegal black market transportation, sale and purchase of fish.

Federal authorities estimate the fair market value of the fish poached over the span of three years to be in the hundreds of thousands of dollars.

If convicted, the men ranging in age from 47 to 61, could face five years in prison on each of the four counts.
