Some very special shoppers were inside filling up their shopping carts at Target in Duluth.

Twenty officers from the Duluth Police Department partnered up with twenty in–need children today to go holiday shopping for their families.
It was all part of the Heroes and Helpers program, an extension of the Duluth Police Departments "Operation Blue Santa" which raises money to donate gifts during the holidays.

Target stores donated twenty five hundred dollars and the DPD was able to more than match that amount, allowing the department to give back in a special way.

People often see police officers at some of their most difficult times. Either they're having a difficulty in their home, or they've been involved in an accident, or something else and here they get to see us at our best and we get to see them at their best.

The Duluth police department raised an additional fourteen hundred dollars to purchase gifts for Toyland Express.
