Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- A vision for Duluth Public Schools is nearing completion.

Nearly 2,000 community members took part in the Think Kids initiative.

The project aims to discover a common desire or vision for schools and the community that will guide future planning and decision making within ISD 709.

Volunteer facilitators reviewed comments made in a series of community, parent and staff meetings and online surveys and developed adraft vision document for the district.

Throughout these individual voices run common desires for our schools and community. The result is a set of shared values and beliefs from across the city, and a new vision for Duluth’s schools that will guide future planning and decision making.

A final document is expected to be presented to the Duluth School Board for approval in April.

Once finalized, Superintendent Bill Gronseth says the document will be used to create a detailed action plan which will include specific and measurable goals and objectives.
