International Falls, MN (NNCNOW.com) - An Indiana man is in serious condition at a Duluth hospital following an accident involving two semi trucks carrying logs near the Canadian Border.

The Minnesota State Patrol says one semi slowed down for a vehicle on the side of Highway 11 in Koochiching County just after 12 p.m. Wednesday.

Authorities say as the truck slowed down, it was rear-ended by a second semi, causing the second one to jack knife, cross the center line and strike an oncoming pickup.

26-year-old Nicholas Phillips, a passenger in the pickup, along with two others, were airlifted to Essentia Health St. Mary's hospital.

Phillips is listed in serious condition.

The accident caused both trucks to spill their loads.
