Carlton, MN (NNCNOW.com) - Three people, including a child, are in area hospitals after a double rollover on I–35 Sunday morning.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the accident happened just after 9:30, when conditions on I–35 were icy.

55–year–old Kathleen Happala of White Bear Lake was driving northbound with 4–year–old Cameron Moroney near the Highway 210 exit when her Dodge Ram rolled into the median.

Troopers say bystanders stopped to assist when a Dodge Dakota driven by 57–year–old Lawrence Sommer, of Gottage Grove, rolled over in the same spot, hitting people in the area.

Both Lawrence and a pedestrian on the scene, 32–year–old Adam Roen of Eveleth, were taken to Saint Luke's Hospital in Duluth with serious injuries.

Moroney was taken to Saint Mary's Hospital in Duluth for serious injures.

The State Patrol says Happala was uninjured in the rollover.
