Kenora, Ontario, Canada (NNCNOW.com) - Three people from Grand Rapids were killed in a plane crash Friday, according to Ontario Provincial Police.

The Kenora Detachment of OPP says a Cessna 182 aircraft crashed Friday south of Kenora on Dora Lake, an island lake on the Aulneau Peninsula of Lake of the Woods.

Police identified the victims as 41-year-old Nikolas Rajala and 40-year-old Teresa Rajala of Cohasset, MN and 37-year-old Lynn Bohanon of Grand Rapids.

Upon arrival police say two occupants were deceased and a third was seriously injured and succumbed to her injuries despite life-saving efforts of SAR members.

The trio had been staying at an area fishing lodge and had attended Chappie Lake to fish for the day.

A signal from an Emergency Locator Transmitter on Dora Lake prompted the emergency response.

Transport Canada, the Transport Safety Board and the Office of the Coroner have also been notified.
