Esko, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- In 1960, the Watry Family thought it would be fun to invite their friends to watch next year's harvesting of their oats.
Who knew that would turn into a 53–year tradition in Esko, now known as the Annual Lakehead Harvest Reunion Steam and Tractor Show?
The three–day event began Friday, and featured saw–milling, threshing, blacksmiths... and of course, many steam and gas tractors throughout the ages.
Event organizers say the goal of the event is to not only bring back memories, but to educate the younger generations about antique agricultural machinery.
And organizers say there's no better way to teach than through demonstration.
