Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - Maintenance work on the Blatnik Bridge has been re-scheduled following a traffic jam Wednesday afternoon.
As part of the summer bridge maintenance project, one lane of the bridge was closed to ensure a safe work area for maintenance crews. But after a significant traffic backup occurred, MN-DOT stopped work and traffic flow resumed as usual.
Leaders say maintenance work will resume when traffic isn't as heavy.
Meanwhile, westbound lanes on the Bong Bridge are closed until November 1st of 2014 as part of a major, multi-million dollar rehab project.
Next year, eastbound lanes will be closed.
