Truck Driver Safe After Semi Drives into Ditch

Brookston, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- A semi-driver is safe this afternoon after his truck drove off into the ditch near Brookston, MN.

Around 2 p.m., authorities responded to a call of a semi-truck that had drove off into the ditch near Brookston, MN.

The driver of the semi-truck reported that he was suffering from a coughing fit when he drove his truck into the ditch.

Cloquet Ambulance and the Culver Fire Department responded immediately to the scene and were able to help the man out of his truck.

Authorities reported that the man sustained minor injuries from whip lash and his seat belt. However the driver did say that wearing his seat belt was what saved his life.

Authorities stayed on the scene to direct traffic around the accident.

The semi driver was treated on the scene by Cloquet Ambulance.
