Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - Northland runners will hit the ground running when the the NorthShore Inline Marathon's Tunnel 10K returns in September.

Race officials announced on Tuesday that Minnesota Power will be the title sponsor for the race in partnership with the American Red Cross.

The 10K course, which kicked of last year on a trial basis, follows I-35 north and goes through the tunnels.

Proceeds from both the 19th annual Inline Marathon and the 10K race will support the local chapter of the Red Cross.

"The participants that join up on the running or the inline skating have the ability to get pledges and all those funds will go to the disaster relief fund set up by the American Red Cross," said Skeeter Moore, the executive director of the NorthShore Inline Marathon.

The race is the nation's largest inline marathon.

The gun goes off on September 13th.
