Two Northland Beaches Under Beach Advisory

August 22, 2013 Updated Aug 22, 2013 at 12:20 PM CST

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Health officials are warning beach goers to stay out of the water at two Northland beaches due to elevated E. coli levels.

The following beaches have a No Water Contact Advisory:
- Minnesota Point Harborside / 15th Street Beach located on the harbor-side of Park Point in Duluth at 15th Street.

- Burlington Bay Beach located in Two Harbors.

The elevated E. coli bacteria could be due to the possible presence of fecal contamination.

The water at both beaches will be tested again later today.

If you become sick after coming into contact with the water at these beaches, you are asked to call the Minnesota Health Department.
