Gordon, WI (NNCNOW.com) - A two–car crash in Gordon Saturday afternoon sent a South Range man to the hospital.

The crash occurred in a construction zone along US Highway 53.

According to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, a 1990 Chrysler New Yorker driven by 57–year–old Robert Lewis of South Range was northbound on Highway 53 in the construction zone at County Highway Y.

A 2006 Chevy Silverado driven by 33–year–old Jesse Severin of Superior pulled out from the EB stop sign at the intersection, and hit Lewis on the driver's side of his car.

Lewis was transported to an area hospital, and the Gordon Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.

Officers say the accident is a reminder that motorists need to slow down, and pay extra attention while traveling through construction zones.
