Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) ---Two men have been charged in connected with an armed robbery and shooting at a Duluth business earlier this week.

29-year-old Brandon James Tyson and 32-year-old Robert William Neft were charged today with second degree Attempted murder and first degree aggravated robbery.

Authorities were called to the I-L-F Smartphone Clinic along London Road Monday night just before 7:30 on reports of an armed robbery and shooting.

According to the criminal complaint, when officers arrived, they found Colin Mackin, the owner of the business, struggling to breathe due to a gunshot wound to his chest.

Once inside the business, officers observed signs of a struggle, and a black mechanics glove left behind by the suspects.

According to the complaint, the investigation led authorities to an apartment on the 1800 block of East 2nd street, where a vehicle was located matching the description of the one used in the robbery.

During a search of the vehicle, law enforcement found a revolver, a glove matching the one left at the scene, a business card for the victim and his business, ipads, black hooded sweatshirts, a mask, ammunition, and a mac book pro lap top with a blood-like substance on it.

The complaint states that Neft admitted that he and Tyson were in the store earlier in the day and came back that night with the intent to rob the place.

According to the complaint, Neft also admitted that Tyson hit the victim in the head with a pistol and eventually shot him in the chest.

"His buddy came over, hit me in the face, to get me off of his friend, he stood up, put the gun to my chest and pulled trigger, and then hopped in the car and drove off. I didn't even really realize I was shot until well after it happened," said owner and victim, Colin Mackin.

Mackin remains hospitalized and told us Thursday that fighting back was worth it and he would do it all again.

Bail has been set at $150,000 for both Neft and Tyson.

They will be back in court on January 15th for an omnibus hearing.
