UMD student found in sub-zero temperatures will undergo amputations

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - The UMD student found outside unconscious in subzero temperatures, learned her diagnosis from doctors Monday at Region's hospital.

According to her Caring Bridge site, doctors told Alyssa Lommel they did everything they could to save her fingers and toes, but the damage was too much and they will be amputated.

The 19 year old woman was found unconscious on the porch of her neighbor's house in Duluth on December 7th.
