UMD student will not face underage consumption charges due to immunity

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - Duluth Police say, if underage drinking was indeed a factor in the Lommel incident, she will not face underage consumption charges.

According to police officials, Lommel is covered under Subdivision 8 Immunity, as part of the Minnesota Underage Consumption statute.

Under Sub 8 Immunity, A person is not subject to prosecution of underage consumption if that person, or another individual, contacts a 911 operator to report the person is in need of medical assistance for an immediate health or safety concern.

Duluth Police say the case is closed barring any new information that would warrant re–opening it.
