Update: Police complete investigation into fatal vehicle vs. pedestrian collision

Hermantown, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- We're learning more about a fatal pedestrian versus vehicle accident in Hermantown.

Jeremy Jacob Reeves, a 28-year-old client of Stepping Stones for Living died of his injuries after he was hit by a vehicle last Sunday.

Prior to the incident, Hermantown Police say Reeves assaulted a staff member and made statements that he wanted to commit suicide by being run over by a semi-truck.

Reeves reportedly left the house on foot and a staff member told police they witnessed him jump out in from of a vehicle.

The 56-year-old female driver and 22-year-old female passenger of the motor vehicle were not injured.

Police have completed their investigation, but the Minnesota State Patrol continues its investigation into the reconstruction of the crash scene.

A spokesperson for Stepping Stones for Living says their thoughts and prayers are with the victims family and staff following this incident.
