Update: Two People Arrested in Fatal Cromwell Car Crash

Cromwell, MN (Northland's Newscenter) --- Two people have been arrested in connection with the fatal car crash near Cromwell, MN that killed two people.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 26 year old Cloquet woman has been arrested for alleged criminal vehicular operation in connection with the fatal car crash.

A 25 year old Cloquet man has also been arrested for allegedly fleeing the scene.

Monday, the Minnesota State Patrol released the names of the victims. It is confirmed that 25-year-old Zachary Gamache of Esko and 29-year-old Mitchell Lingren of Duluth have passed away.

According to the State Patrol, three other people were involved in the crash and have no apparent injuries.

The Minnesota State Patrol is reporting that three cars were involved in a fatal car crash around 8:30 AM near the intersection of Highway 210 and Award Blvd.

The driver of one of the other vehicles in the crash was taken to the hospital.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, an Oldsmobile Aurora was traveling eastbound on Highway 210, weaving into the center line.

The Aurora struck a Ford Pickup that was traveling westbound on Highway 210 in the left rear tire. The axle on the Pickup broke off and it veered into oncoming traffic.

The Pickup truck side swiped a Ford F350 that was hauling a trailer. The Pickup ended up hitting the trailer.

The driver and passenger of the Ford Pickup were ejected from the vehicle.

The Pickup was totaled in the crash.
