Victim in Grand Rapids Shooting in Fair Condition

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - One of the victims in a double shooting in Grand Rapids has been upgraded to fair condition.

According to a representative from Essentia Health St. Mary's Medical Center, Paul Russell Johnson, 32, is in fair condition at the hospital.

The hospital representative says that 'fair' condition means that a patient's vital signs are stable and they are not in great discomfort.

Johnson and his mother, Rosemary Oberg-Johnson, 59, were shot on December 22nd in a home off 10th Avenue in Grand Rapids.

Rosemary Oberg-Johnson later died from her injuries.

The suspect in the shooting, William Levi Payne, 26, has been charged with eight felonies, including 2nd degree murder.

He is being held in Itasca County Jail.
