Voyageurs National Park awarded $150,000 grant for park projects

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - The Voyageurs National Park Association has recently announced a three year, $150,000 grant for the 40 year old Northern Minnesota attraction.

According to the association's website, the grant will fund three years' worth of park appreciation projects.

Among those efforts will be a focus on land preservation, site restoration, and visitor services.

Voyageurs National Park is location near the Canadian Border town of International Falls, and includes portions of Rainy Lake, Kabetogama Lake, Namakan Lake, and Crane Lake.

Over 170,000 people visited Voyageurs in 2011.
