Superior, WI (NNCNOW.com) --- Wisconsin Democratic gubernatorial candidate Mary Burke was in Superior Tuesday as part of her northern Wisconsin manufacturing tour.

Burke toured the Graymont Limestone Plant in Superior, and discussed "Invest for Success," her plan to increase jobs in the region.

She says her "jobs plan" for Wisconsin focuses on strategies that will create good-paying jobs to strengthen the middle class as well as the economy.

"We're going to align around our key industries and make sure that public policy and economic development is helping all industries in Wisconsin be strong. That benefits dozens and hundreds of companies rather than just targeting one company or the other," said Burke.

She says the other strategy is to focus on high-school and college education, so that an entrepreneurial climate can be created where new businesses are started more frequently, creating local jobs.

Burke will face incumbent Governor Scott Walker in the election.
