Two Harbors, MN (NNCNOW.com) -- After several days of frigid weather, snowmobilers are revving up and starting their engines to hit the trails.
"The trails are really good, we got a lot of snow this year which made for a good base and now with the cold temperatures we had the snow is set up and the groomers have groomed it out real well and it's been really nice," said Richard Mattson, from Island Lake, Minn.
According to the latest study by theUniversity of Minnesota Tourism Center snowmobilers spent about $172 million in the state in 2008.
When you break it down by region, the Northeast had the most spending with $53.6 million.
The owner of the Dixie Bar in Two Harbors hopes they will see some cash come their way with the warmer weather.
"Last night we started to see some sleders come in, probably a couple dozen or so and now today, this morning we have already had several dozen come in and tomorrow we should be packed, the trails will be busy tomorrow," Deanna Larson, owner of Dixie Bar.
The bar has become a snowmobiling hot spot over the years due to its prime location.
"Just go right out the door here and you can go a couple of miles down the spur and get on the Northshore trail or you can get on the Youkon trail you can make a pretty decent loop," said Norman Booth, who is from Zumbrota, Minn.
However, despite the location, the owners have put the bar up for sale in search of something different.
"We put a lot into it and it's gotten pretty successful so we thought maybe we would try to move on to a different adventure and put it up for sale now. It if goes quick it goes and if not that's ok too," said Larson.
But for now they are just hoping for a good weekend.
Hugo's Bar and Grill in Two Harbors is also for sale, both establishments went up for sale on Dec. 17, 2013.
