Madison, WI (NNCNOW.com) -- Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker has proclaimed this week Wisconsin Aviation Week.
Last year 4.4 million people boarded commercial flights in Wisconsin and more than 118 million pounds of cargo were transported by air, according to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.
The aviation industry also supports 90,900 jobs which generate nearly $7 billion in annual economic activity.
To kick off the week, the 62nd annual EAA Airventure show started Monday in Oshkosh Wisconsin.
The week long airshow typically attracts more than half a million aviation enthusiasts.
