Superior, WI (NNCNOW.com)--- The Wisconsin D-N-R has approved an air construction permit for Enbridge to add new storage tanks at it's Superior terminal.

The DNR approved the permit after receiving more than 200 written comments and approximately 3,400 emails from the public.

The agency said, however, many of the comments concerned Enbridge's pipeline, which was not part of the air permit review and final determination.

The DNR said many of the comments requested the agency do an environmental assessment or an environmental impact review.

The agency pointed out environmental assessments were done on pipeline projects in 2006 and 2009 and that under current law, the air permit issued to a company does not require any additional analysis.
