Women Gather in Duluth to Discuss 8th District Congressional Race
Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) -- Women pushing for a democratic victory in Minnesota's Eight Congressional District race gathered at Sara's Table in Duluth Friday, to discuss the role women's rights play in the election. In the company of Minnesota Lieutenant Governor Yvonne Prettner Solon, Rick Nolan's wife Mary, and City Councilor Sharla Gardner, the group talked about why Candidate Nolan should get your vote. The group felt that current Congressman Chip Cravaack and Nolan are worlds apart on issues like women's health care and the affordable care act. "It would allow insurance company's discrimination based on preexisting conditions and one of those preexisting conditions is being pregnant." Congressman Cravaack's office responded in a statement today saying Congressman Cravaack's office responded in a statement today saying Obamacare represents one of the largest tax increases in history. They went on to say Congressman Cravaack supports replacing the health care law with common-sense, step-by-step reforms.
