Grand Rapids, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) - It happened around 7:30 Friday night.
According to Grand Rapids Police the incident happened in th 1800 block of River Road.
Authorities say the young woman was attempting to run away from a local treatment facility.
In doing so the female ran into the road and was hit by a vehicle.
The victim was taken to Grand Itasca Hospital and later transferred to Essentia Health St Mary's Medical Center in Duluth.
The driver of the vehicle was not hurt.
