Madison, WI (NNCNOW.com) --- Another wolf harvest zone in Wisconsin has closed, leaving only one more zone open to hunters and trappers.
Zone 6, which covers most of the southern and central portions of the state, will close on Thursday, November 7th at 2pm. The Wisconsin DNR closed the zone after 29 wolves were reported as harvested out of the 30 wolves that could be taken in the area.
Zone 3 in Burnett, Washburn, Rusk, Taylor and southern portions of Price and Sawyer Counties remains open to hunters and trappers until either the quota of 71 wolves is reached or until the end of the season in February.
So far, 197 wolves have been taken during this season's wolf hunt. A total of 251 wolves can be harvested during the 2013-2014 season.
