Iron River, WI (Northland's NewsCenter) - Fire investigators in Iron River say they're closer to figuring out what led to a house fire on Tuesday (2/1).

Officials say the half-million dollar home is a total loss. Firefighters spent about ten hours on scene knocking it down.

At this point investigators say a sauna inside the home may be to blame. They say a number of conditions made the fight difficult.

"It had a metal roof so it was hard to fight," said the incident commander of Tuesday's fire, Gary Victorson. "The floor had given out fairly early in the fire, making it difficult to get into the fire and to save the place."

The homeowner wasn't at home at the time.

Officials say the investigation is on going.
