Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - A Birchwood teenager is dead after their trucks collided, and overturned, in Barron County Saturday.

According to Wisconsin State Patrol Sergeant Brett Heino, a red Ford F250 and a Silver Ford Explorer collided just after two Saturday afternoon while traveling Southbound on Highway 48, near Rice Lake.

The collision occurred when the driver of the F250, an 18 year old woman from Birchwood, Wisconsin, clipped the Explorer while she was passing.

Both vehicles left the roadway and flipped following the impact.

The 18–year–old driver was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected, and pinned under the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The two passengers of the Explorer were buckled, and not injured.

The Barron County Sheriff's Department is assisting with notifications of the teenager's family.

An investigation into what caused the accident is being led by the Wisconsin State Patrol.
