Superior, WI (NNCNOW.com) - Duluth-bound lanes on the Bong Bridge, Highway Two, will be reduced to one lane beginning Monday March 31, but the full closure of the westbound lanes won't happen until May 5.
However construction is expected to begin on Monday.
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation says the original plan was to close both Duluth bound lanes in March but after reviewing the contractor schedule changes had to be made.
WisDOT officials say commuters will see minimal disruption due to the delay.
The Bong Bridge, which opened in 1984, will undergo a two-year, multi-million dollar face lift including repairing arch components, repainting, and road surface repairs.
